Ministry of Justice Strengthens Security at Sri Lanka’s Highest Courts with Penta
The Ministry of Justice has taken a significant step towards strengthening security across Sri Lanka’s judicial system through the deployment of advanced walk-through metal detector systems at several key judicial institutions nationwide.
Courts play a vital role in upholding the rule of law and must remain secure environments where judges, legal professionals, court staff, government officials, witnesses, and members of the public can carry out their responsibilities without fear or disruption.
In today’s security landscape, protecting these institutions has become more important than ever.
Sri Lanka has witnessed incidents in the past that have highlighted the importance of maintaining strict security within court premises. Such events serve as a reminder that judicial institutions must be equipped with robust preventive measures to safeguard both people and the administration of justice itself.
Recognizing this responsibility, the Ministry of Justice entrusted Penta with the implementation of a comprehensive security enhancement project across several important courts and judicial facilities throughout the country.
As part of the initiative, a total of 17 advanced walk-through metal detectors were installed at selected judicial institutions, including the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Provincial High Court, High Courts, District Courts, and Magistrate’s Courts.
The newly installed systems are designed to detect and deter the entry of prohibited or potentially hazardous items, strengthening access control measures at court entrances and helping create a safer environment for all who enter these premises.
